HyperRESEARCH analyzes Domestic Abuse of Indigenous Women for the Department of Justice

HyperRESEARCH enabled a team-based analysis of their experiences with the US Justice system of Native American women who have suffered from domestic abuse. The results of this study can be seen in "Community Based Analysis of the U.S. Legal System’s Interventions in Domestic Abuse Cases Involving Indigenous Women" a final report submitted to the National Institute of Justice by Mending the Sacred Hoop of Minnesota Program Development, Inc. The study was led by Thomas Peacock, Principal Investigator, Ed.D. of the University of Minnesota, Duluth and memeber of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. Other researchers included Lila George, MSW (University of Minnesota, Duluth) of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, Minnesota; Alex Wilson, Ed.M. (Harvard University) of the Opaskwayak Cree Nation; Amy Bergstrom, Ed.M. (University of Minnesota, Duluth) of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa, Minnesota; and Ellen Pence, Ph.D. with Praxis International. The full PDF of the final report can be found here.
