| HyperRESEARCH used in Gerontology research |
The February issue (Volume 50 Issue 1) of The Gerontologist, the bimonthly journal of The Gerontological Society of America, contains an article on "The Psychosocial Impacts of Multimedia Biographies on Persons With Cognitive Impairments" by Thecla Damianakis, Masashi Crete-Nishihata, Karen L. Smith, Ronald M. Baecker, and Elsa Marziali. In the research for the article, HyperRESEARCH was used to analyze in-depth interviews (n = 23) and video recordings of the screenings (n = 30) of multimedia biographies of the participants. Analysis of both the media biographies and video of the participants viewing of them allows for capturing parallel events such as a participant smiling and laughing during the narration of a description of their childhood home in the multimedia biography.
