FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ResearchWare Releases HyperRESEARCH 2.5

BOSTON, Massachusetts - 1 May, 2003
ResearchWare, Inc. today released HyperRESEARCH 2.5, a cross-platform software package for qualitative analysis research. The new version offers a variety of new features, a revised interface for more efficient workflow, substantial performance enhancements, and introduces a free limited-use version suitable for teaching the basics of qualitive methods.

HyperRESEARCH is used by researchers in social science research, psychology, usability, and corporate marketing to identify and analyze patterns and trends among qualitative data from a variety of media file types, including text, images, audio and video. Using an intuitive case-based approach, HyperRESEARCH has been popular for its ease of use, and remains one of the few qualitative research products actively developed for both Mac OS and Windows platforms. HyperRESEARCH study and source files are fully cross-platform so users can trade work regardless of which operating system they're using.

Driven by extensive user testing, HyperRESEARCH 2.5 introduces a streamlined workflow for citing passages from source materials, and expands its use of Apple's cross-platform QuickTime multimedia architecture to support source materials in such popular formats as MP3, MPEG, MPEG-4 in addition to text and five different image formats. The new version also provides auto-saving features, enhanced printing support, flexible code renaming features, and multiple window layouts for different workflows, and an enhanced Hypothesis Tester for more complex data analysis.

"We've re-engineered HyperRESEARCH in critical areas to enhance performance, stability, easy of use," said Scott Kinder, president of ResearchWare. "This free upgrade marks the beginning of our re-dedication to making HyperRESEARCH the most flexible tool for QDA while maintaining its time-tested ease of use."

"HyperRESEARCH 2.5 offers some of the fastest and easiest coding process in the industry," said Raymond C. Maietta, Ph.D., president of ResearchTalk, a qualitative analysis consulting company.

HyperRESEARCH 2.5 is available for download at the publisher's Web site: <http://www.ResearchWare.com/hr/downloads.html>.

The freely downloadable version of HyperRESEARCH 2.5 has all features enabled with no time limits. Without a purchased registration code the only restrictions are limits on the number of codes and cases in the study, making the free version suitable for evaluation and teaching. A single-user licence costs US$370, with discounts available for volume purchases. Registered users of HyperRESEARCH 2.0 can upgrade to version 2.5 for free. See the ResearchWare Web site at <http://www.researchware.com> for details.

HyperRESEARCH 2.5 requires Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP or Mac OS 8.0 or later, with a minimum of 64 MB total memory and 5 MB disk space. The Mac version will run in Classic mode under OS X. An OS X-native version is scheduled for release in a few weeks, and will be another free upgrade for registered users.
