HyperRESEARCH analyzes Blogs as a Tool to Assess Student Learning

In the Proceedings of Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education's International Conference from March 2009 (pp. 184-189), authors Cynthia Shabb, Pauline Stonehouse, Kathy Smart, and Bonni Gourneau utilized HyperRESEARCH for their paper on "Reflective Blogs as a Tool for Assessment of Student Learning."

In this study, "Graduate students were asked to create reflective blogs and podcasts in four different courses in a College of Education and Human Development as part of a qualitative study of electronic learning spaces. Adopting Blooms Taxonomy as an initial framework, HyperRESEARCH software was used to analyze and evaluate blog narrative. This roundtable discussion will focus on the potential use of blogs in an academic setting. Guidelines developed to introduce blogging, and the rubrics used to assess student learning will be provided for discussion." The article can be accessed online here.
