About ResearchWare, Inc.
HyperRESEARCH was first developed in 1990 by Dr. Sharlene Hesse-Biber, T. Scott Kinder, and Paul Dupuis. Dr. Hesse-Biber had been looking for a software program to aid in qualitative data analysis. At the time, there were few CAQDAS (Computer-Aided Qualitative Data Analysis Software) programs available, and none that met Dr. Hesse-Biber's needs. Based on Dr. Hesse-Biber's description of what she was looking for, Scott Kinder developed the user interface and Paul Dupuis developed the core program and the Hypothesis Tester. ResearchWare, Inc. was incoroprated in 1991 to allow HyperRESEARCH to become a commercial product available to other researchers.
Since then, HyperRESEARCH has grown through several versions, expanding and improving in response to user feedback. HyperRESEARCH 2.0 was the culmination of several years of interface redesign and software development and testing. As the first cross-platform release, HyperRESEARCH 2.0 brought the product's ease of use and its powerful new Hypothesis Tester to a much wider audience of researchers.
Demonstrating our commitment to our customers, HyperRESEACH 2.5 and version 2.6 are free upgrades for users of earlier versions.
ResearchWare remains committed to continued development and improvement of HyperRESEARCH. Our goal is to retain the user-friendly design and ease of use that reduces the learning curve for researchers just starting out with CAQDAS programs, while continuing to expand and improve the features and capabilities of HyperRESEARCH.
